Reds undergo apprenticeship when they possess skills useful for selling wares and have been chosen by master Reds for work. They become exempted from conscription or attending the Feats of First Friday as they are considered "essential laborers". Unlike the other apprenticed Reds, some of them are working in Summerton, along with their masters.
